To my host family,

Hi!  How are you? I am so glad that you are reading my letter and I hope that I am the one you've been looking for.

                My name is Fabiana.  I am 23 years old and I am from Brazil. I’ve been living in XXXXX – SP, it’s a city near to São Paulo Capital.  I live with my mother, her name is XXXXX  and a dog, we call him XXXXX  My parents are divorced and retired, and they totally support my decision of becoming an Au Pair. I am closer from my mother's family side. I have two cousins, each has a kid. The youngest kid is XXXXX  she is 9 months old, and XXXXX  he is 5 years old. We are always together, they are the treasure of the family. I love them so much.

                I arrived from Canada in August 2013, where I was studying English for six months. Before that, I had lived alone in São Paulo Capital for almost 5 years, during  that time, I was studying and working. Both experiences were amazing. I matured a lot and learned to take care of myself. In Toronto, I lived with people from all over the world. The diversity of people, cultures and customs was simply awesome.

I finished my university in 2011. I studied Advertising and Publicity. I really like this field because I love being in touch with different  people. People say that I am an easygoing person, creative and very responsible. My best qualities also includes being polite and flexible.  If I decide on doing something I love, I do my best. I like to spend my free time with my family, listening to music, taking care of my cousins' kids, jogging, biking around the beach, watching a movie, cooking, hanging out with my friends and driving. I am used to driving ever since I got my driver’s license in 2008.

I’ve been taking care of the kids of my mom's friends and neighbor’s. Most of them were above two years old. Sometimes, I also take care of my cousin’s daughter, as I had told, she is 9 months old.

                My longest experience in caring for a child was with XXXXX  she was 8 years old at that time, and XXXXX  she was 7 years old, they are kids of my mother’s friend. I took care of them for 5 months approximately, 40 hours per week. My duties were cooking, feeding them, helping them with their homework, organizing their room, playing and bringing them to and from school, artistic gymnastics and dance class. I had to stop taking care of them because I went to Canada and during my short absence, I missed them a lot. At least nowadays, I can see them often again. These girls are so lovely, even I've not been taking care of them anymore, they always invite me to go to their house for playing and having lunch with them.

I also took care of XXXXX  8, and XXXXX  10. He loves eating, watching TV, playing soccer and video game and geography. He is so smart, he looks older than he is. She wants to became an artist, then she likes dancing, acting and playing guitar. She had many differents activities at the same day, almost everyday. My busy girl! Nowadays, I've been taking care of XXXXX  12, and XXXXX  2. They are kids of my friend’s sister. I’m responsible for everything regarding their welfare.

I want to be an au pair because I love kids. I love being around them, doing activities, playing and reading. They are so happy, smart and honest. That’s why this program sounds perfect for me as a combination of working with children and having the opportunity to experience a new culture. I really want to make the difference in your kids' life and to help them achieve their highest potentials. It seems to be very gratifying. Not just as a professional, but an individual.
